MEET OUR PASTOR

REV. LAWRENCE LABATT

Pastor Larry has been serving at Christ the King in

Port Rowan since the church opened in November 2004.  Prior to entering into ministry, Pastor Larry worked as a newspaper artist and art director for a national newspaper group, and from there moved on to become an associate creative director at an advertising agency.  While at the agency he was responsible for the creation of television commercials, print ads as well as package designs for many well known consumer products.

Pastor Labatt left the advertising world to enter into the highest of all callings – to become a follower of Christ and to tell others about the love of Jesus and that the Lord truly does change lives.  Pastor Labatt entered into the five year pastoral ministry program at Concordia Lutheran Seminary at Brock University and graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree.

Upon graduation, Pastor Labatt has served as an

intern in a church in Port Maitland, and as a vicar in Fisherville and in Dunnville Ontario. He was called to England and served in a parish in the Greater London area.  When Pastor Labatt returned to Canada he served a congregation in Delhi (Rhineland) and presently he has been at Christ the King in Port Rowan for the past 20 years.

His wife's name is Mary and he is the father of five children, and has nine grandchildren.

If you were to ask Pastor Labatt why did you enter into the ministry? His answer to you would be this:  

“Your soul will never die and you will live on.  I want you to know Jesus Christ, the Son of God so that you will live forever in heaven if you trust and believe in Jesus, the Son of the Living God.”
